Job description

Intuit is seeking a strategic and operationally excellent Head of Financial Crimes Compliance to lead the financial crimes compliance office. Reporting directly to the Enterprise Chief Compliance Office, this senior leader will manage a team of AML and sanctions compliance professionals responsible for enterprise wide AML and sanctions compliance for regulated Intuit entities across multiple jurisdictions in the United States, Canada, and Ireland/EU where Intuit and its subsidiaries provide regulated offerings.

Intuit's money and AML-regulated products span three of the world's most recognized consumer and small business financial brands. Through QuickBooks, Intuit offers business banking, payments, payroll, bill pay, lines of credit, digital wallet, and lending products and other services to small and mid-sized businesses and consumers across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Through TurboTax, Intuit provides consumer tax preparation in the United States and Canada with integrated financial services including tax refund advances and associated payment flows. Through Credit Karma, Intuit serves tens of millions of consumers in the United States and United Kingdom with personal finance products including bank accounts, savings, credit cards, loans, and money movement. Collectively, these products operate under the AML/CFT supervisory frameworks of FinCEN and U.S. state regulators, FINTRAC, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Central Bank of Ireland, and applicable EU Anti-Money Laundering Directives.

This is a rare opportunity to mature and lead a best-in-class financial crimes compliance program at a globally scaled, multi-brand fintech — one that integrates the analytical rigor of a traditional financial intelligence unit with the speed, data-driven discipline, and technological agility demanded by Intuit's consumer and business product ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership: Maintain, and evolve a world-class BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance framework tailored to the company's risk profile. Identify and implement effective technologies and platforms to support and modernize that framework, including appropriate use of AI-enabled tooling.
  • Regulatory and Partner Oversight and Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory examinations, and internal and external audits and bank partner due diligence reviews; ensure all regulatory filings (SARs, STRs) meet regulatory and business standards for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Sanctions Disclosures & Control Enhancements: Assess potential sanctions issues to strengthen existing controls, applying strategic judgment to decide on appropriate voluntary self-disclosures to OFAC.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive periodic Intuit entity AML and sanctions risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential threats related to money laundering and terrorist financing.
  • Strategic Leadership Management: Lead and scale a high-performing AML and sanctions compliance team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, extreme ownership, and ethical integrity while ensuring seamless integration with operational units and compliance and business partners.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Review, challenge, and approve business money movement strategies, product launches and enhancements, and customer segments from a financial crimes risk perspective and partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Product, Engineering, and executive leadership to ensure effective integration of AML and sanctions compliance practices and controls into business operations
  • Strategic Advisory: Partner with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Legal teams to identify risks and define mitigation strategies for strategic business initiatives, new product launches, and international expansions.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee automated transaction monitoring systems, KYC/KYB processes and provide regular reporting to the regulated Intuit subsidiary Board of Directors and executive leadership on the state of BSA/AML and OFAC enterprise risk. Track matters requiring attention for remediation and program enhancement.
  • Product Launches and Enhancements: Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders to seamlessly embed AML and sanctions compliance controls into the design of new product launches and feature enhancements.
  • Emerging Risks: Proactively identify emerging financial crimes risks and evolve the program to address new threats, regulatory expectations, and support business expansion.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 15+ years of senior-level experience in BSA/AML and OFAC compliance within fintech, banking, or a high-growth financial services environment.
  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and related regulations, OFAC laws and regulations, and international AML standards (FATF). Exposure to Ireland and EU AML laws and regulations
  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing complex teams and navigating high-stakes, dynamic regulatory environments.
  • Executive Presence & Influence: Demonstrated success collaborating with business stakeholders to seamlessly embed AML and sanctions compliance into the design of new product launches and feature enhancements.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and translate regulatory requirements into actionable business processes.
  • Certifications: CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.
