Job description

We’re looking for a finance leader with real operational range: a genuine partner to our co-CEOs in running and scaling the company, not finance in isolation. You’ll own the model and the numbers, bring operational lift to how the business runs, and build a compact, high-leverage finance function that sets us up for the next stage.

Responsibilities
  • Financial planning & advisory: Own budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning, and be the analytical partner to the co-CEOs on the decisions that shape the company including pricing, hiring, compute spend, and runway. Turn financial data into decisions the leadership team can act on.
  • Operational partnership to the leadership team: Bring operational leadership to how the company is run day to day. Help the leadership team turn strategy into execution.
  • Fundraising & investor relations: Partner with the co-CEOs to prepare for and run our Series B. Build and defend the financial model, own the data room and diligence, and drive investor materials, reporting, and relationships. Be a trusted, straight-talking counterpart to the board.
  • International & cross-border (managed through partners): Own consolidation across our US and German entities including intercompany, transfer pricing, R&D cost allocation, multi-currency, and local compliance. We run accounting through external partners rather than in-house, so this means managing accounting, tax, and audit firms across both countries and coordinating how that work is priced and shared between entities.
  • Accounting, close & controls: Ensure a clean, timely close and right-sized internal controls.
  • A compact, world-class finance function: Build lean finance infrastructure and, over time, a small, high-leverage team that scales with the company.
Your profile
  • Senior finance leadership in a high-growth tech startup (CFO, VP Finance or Head of Finance), or a combined finance and operations background
  • Experience helping run a company, not only its finances, turning strategy into execution alongside a leadership team
  • Direct experience raising institutional venture funding, ideally leading the finance workstream on a Series B or later round
  • Strong modeling, forecasting and scenario-planning judgment, with the instinct to guide decisions rather than just report them
  • Cross-border experience managing finance and external accounting and tax partners, ideally across the US and Germany or Europe, including intercompany and transfer pricing
  • The ability to make complex numbers land with founders, boards and investors
  • A strategic, hands‑on operator who thrives in a founder‑led company with two co-CEOs
  • Based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate
Nice to have
  • Understanding of AI and infrastructure cost structures (compute economics, burn discipline), beyond SaaS FP&A
  • Experience building a finance function and vendor stack from an early baseline
