Job summary

Academy Museum, part of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, seeks a Manager of Exhibitions Graphic Design to lead the creation and execution of exhibition graphics across print and digital media. You will oversee branding alignment, collaborate with curatorial and production teams, and manage budgets and schedules.

The role requires a design-led storyteller with strong leadership, attention to detail, and a track record of delivering high-quality graphics on time in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field is required.
• At least 5 years of design-related professional experience.
• At least 1 year of staff management experience.
• Strong leadership, organization, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience with print production and environmental graphics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with curators and designers to conceptualize cohesive design strategies.
• Create design mock-ups and visual prototypes demonstrating concepts and legibility.
• Support branding and identity across projects while preserving Museum branding.
• Coordinate with departments (collections, fabrication, lighting, AV, media) for exhibition needs.
• Supervise junior designers and freelance staff, providing guidance and feedback.
• Design and produce print and digital materials (tiles, murals, labels, signage, slides).
• Ensure ADA accessibility compliance within gallery spaces.
• Manage workflows, schedules, budgets, estimates, contracts, and vendor terms.
• Oversee artwork reproductions, resizing, and digital file preparation for production.
• Coordinate external vendors onsite and ensure compatibility with rotations and longevity.
