Guerbet, a global leader in medical imaging, seeks a Head of Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities to lead a multidisciplinary team and ensure reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance of plant infrastructure and equipment.

You will drive capital projects, asset management, and sustainability initiatives while partnering with internal and external stakeholders to optimize operations and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in engineering, maintenance, and/or facilities management within an FDA-regulated environment.
  • Expertise in capital project management and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for site engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations.
  • Oversee capital project planning and execution, including budgeting and scheduling.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Head of Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities will be operating in full compliance with applicable hygiene, safety, quality, and regulatory standards, and in alignment with the organization’s framework, company’s procedures, and the defined scope of responsibility the role is accountable for.

The Head of Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for the strategic oversight and operational excellence of all engineering, maintenance, and facility functions. This role ensures the reliability, safety, and compliance of plant infrastructure and equipment while driving continuous improvement, capital project execution, and sustainability initiatives.

YOUR ROLE

  • Manage and develop a team of engineers, maintenance, and facilities, fostering teamwork and skill development
  • Provide strategic leadership for engineering, maintenance, and facilities, operations across the site by planning and managing asset management and reliability-centered maintenance programs to improve efficiency and longevity of facilities and equipment
  • Oversee capital project planning and execution, including budgeting, resource allocation, timeline management, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements (DEA, EPA, FDA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Lead plant maintenance and reliability initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including contract negotiation and performance oversight
  • Serve as the primary liaison for emergency response systems
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all teams
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and long-term infrastructure plans
  • Serve as the administrator of the ADT system and liaison for fire marshal and insurance carrier
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs and analyze performance data to recommend improvements
  • Ensure quality and cost-effectiveness of services
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Department Specific/Non-Essential Functions

  • Participating in cross-functional committees and continuous improvement initiatives outside of core engineering and maintenance responsibilities
  • Managing department communications, presentations, and non-operational stakeholder updates
  • Supporting sustainability, community outreach, or workplace culture initiatives beyond required regulatory and operational needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

YOUR BACKGROUND

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in engineering, maintenance, and/or facilities management within an FDA regulated environment
  • Expertise in capital project management and regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo)
  • Experience driving Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence initiatives, including waste reduction, process optimization, and productivity improvement

Physical Requirements:

  • Blended role with approximately 40% office and 60% field presence
  • Ability to wear required PPE (gowning for classified areas)
  • Ability to walk extensively throughout manufacturing, warehouse, and facility areas
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while conducting inspections, audits, and operational reviews
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated platforms when evaluating equipment and facilities
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and maneuver in confined spaces as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment, machinery, facilities, and safety conditions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication systems
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and use computer systems for extended periods
