Job description

Head of Electrics

Full-Time | Year-Round | Sonora, California

Sierra Repertory Theatre seeks an experienced Head of Electrics to join our year-round production team. This position oversees the execution and maintenance of lighting for a diverse season of plays, musical, concerts, educational productions, and special events across SRT’s two venues.

The Head of Electrics reports to the Artistic Director.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled theatre electrician who enjoys working collaboratively with guest designers and a close-knit production team while living in California’s beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills.

Salary & Benefits: $42,000–$50,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, plus health insurance, three weeks paid vacation, and additional benefits. Additional benefit information is available upon request.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
  • Because SRT operates between two theatres, candidates must have dependable transportation and be able to report reliably to either venue as scheduled.
  • Ability to relocate to the Sonora, California area.
  • Ability to work the flexible schedule inherent in professional theatre, including evenings, weekends, and technical rehearsals.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting and carrying theatrical lighting equipment, using and moving ladders, and working at heights.
