Job description

Cerebras Systems builds the world's largest AI chip, 56 times larger than GPUs. This architecture allows Cerebras to deliver industry-leading training and inference speeds; over 10 times faster than GPU-based hyperscale cloud inference services. This order of magnitude increase is transforming the user experience of AI applications, unlocking real-time iteration and increasing intelligence via additional agentic computation. Cerebras works with the leading model labs, global enterprises, and cutting-edge AI-native startups. OpenAI recently announced a multi-year partnership with Cerebras, to deploy 750 megawatts of scale, transforming key workloads with ultra high-speed inference.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Head of Developer Relations to shape how developers discover, understand, and build with Cerebras. You’ll define the DevRel vision and roadmap, set the technical quality bar, and lead a team that earns developer trust through useful demos, clear teaching, and original ideas.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You should be as comfortable building an application, debugging an API integration, or teaching a workshop as you are coaching a developer advocate or planning the next two quarters. Reporting to the Head of Developer Experience, you’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, New Media, and Communications to demonstrate what fast inference makes possible and turn developer interest into lasting adoption.

What You’ll Own
  • DevRel direction: Define the team’s vision, roadmap, and quality bar around clear developer audiences, use cases, and business goals. Make thoughtful choices about where to invest and what to decline.

  • Technical building and education: Own demos, sample applications, notebooks, technical blogs, and workshops. Personally build, write, teach, present, and debug when needed, and help the team make complex ideas clear and useful.

  • Developer programs and community: Develop events, community initiatives, and repeatable programs that help developers try Cerebras, build useful applications, and continue using the platform.

  • Team leadership: Lead and develop DevRel contributors. Set clear expectations, give specific technical and editorial feedback, support growth, and hold the team accountable for quality and delivery.

  • Technical launches and storytelling: Partner with Product and Engineering on technical accuracy and developer readiness, and with New Media and Communications on compelling stories and coordinated launches.

  • Developer feedback: Turn questions, integration challenges, and community insights into actionable improvements to products, documentation, and the developer experience.

  • Performance and experimentation: Measure developer activation, continued usage, and meaningful ecosystem engagement. Test new ideas, learn from results, and adjust priorities as evidence changes.

Skills and Qualifications
  • A strong portfolio of technical demos, applications, tutorials, workshops, or developer programs, with clear examples of your personal technical contributions.

  • Experience leading a DevRel function or technical developer program with demonstrated results in developer adoption.

  • Experience directly managing and developing technical contributors, including setting expectations, giving actionable feedback, and addressing performance gaps.

  • A track record of delivering technical launches or developer programs with Product, Engineering, and creative partners.

  • Experience turning developer insights into improvements to products, documentation, or the developer experience.

  • Strong hands-on engineering skills. You can use APIs, build useful demos, debug integrations, and explain technical decisions and limitations.

  • Excellent technical writing, teaching, and presentation skills, with the ability to improve the clarity and accuracy of other people’s work.

  • A distinct, informed point of view on modern DevRel and the AI developer ecosystem, including which audiences and use cases deserve attention.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and prioritization skills. You can build an achievable roadmap, explain tradeoffs, and adapt when constraints change.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience building AI applications or developer programs that make the practical value of inference speed clear to developers.
