Job summary

Humane Society of Central Illinois seeks a Development & Community Engagement Manager to lead fundraising, donor stewardship, events, and marketing. You will manage volunteers, build community partnerships, and drive engagement for sustainable funding.

The role reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with board members, sponsors, and stakeholders to elevate animal welfare visibility and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, public relations, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, event planning, or community engagement.
• Demonstrated success in donor cultivation, grant writing, and securing major donors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee donor relations, events, digital marketing, and volunteer oversight to grow funding and engagement.
• Plan and execute fundraising campaigns with detailed budgets and measurable goals.
• Manage social media, email campaigns, newsletters, and content across platforms to promote initiatives.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and recognize volunteers; report progress to the Executive Director and board.
