Job summary

Atlassian is seeking an Engineering Leader to join the Data Engineering team and build scalable data products that power GTM strategy and key decisions across the organization.

You will lead a world‑class data engineering practice, shape technical strategy and data architecture, and develop data products for reporting, analytics, data science, ML, and AI workloads. You will partner with IT, data platform, product engineering, GTM stakeholders, analytics teams and data scientists.

Qualifications

• Fifteen-plus years shaping and scaling data teams and data strategy.
• Ten-plus years leading data engineering with managers of managers.
• Over ten years delivering data/analytics for product teams.
• Strong product sense and data-driven decision making.
• Proven relationships with senior leaders across functions.
• Experience partnering with Analytics, Data Science, Eng and PM teams.
• Experience in Martech and Sales tech domains.
• Led cross-functional data products for marketing, sales, and tech.

Data is a big deal at Atlassian. We ingest billions of events each month into our analytical platforms and have dozens of teams across the company that depend on data platforms to drive their decisions.

Atlassian is looking for an Engineering Leader to join the Data Engineering team and build data products that power GTM(Marketing and Sales )strategy and important decisions across the organization . We are looking for a leader passionate about building systems at scale. You will lead a world-class data engineering practice, shape up technical strategy and data architecture, and develop data products to enable reporting, analytics, data science, machine learning, and AI workloads.

As the data domain specialist, you will partner with IT, data platform, product engineering, GTM Stakeholders ,analytics teams and data scientists to support multiple programs.

Pay Ranges

Role

In The United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A

$238,500 - $311,375

Zone B

$214,650 - $280,238

Zone C

$197,955 - $258,441

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in building and scaling data teams with a focus on data strategy, infrastructure planning, architecture, and data products
• 10+ years of experience leading data engineering teams, experience managing managers of managers, and experience scaling organizations with over 20+ engineers across geographies
• 10+ Years of experience delivering data and analytics solutions for product teams
• Product sense with an understanding of product drivers and of how to guide value using data across the organization
• Demonstrated experience developing influential relationships and trust with senior leaders across different departments
• Prior experience partnering with Analytics , Data Science, Engineering and Product Management teams.
• Prior Experience in Martech (tools and tech) and Sales tech.
• Have led as Subject matter expert across Marketing, Sales and Tech domains, partnering and effectively translating stakeholders needs into data products that enables data driven decision making.
• Experience building Microservices and RESTful APIs
• Experience implementing DevOps best practices within the data platform, including solutions for CI/CD, data observability, monitoring, and lineage
• Experience with BI tools like Tableau, Amplitude, and Redash
• A graduate degree in Computer Science or a similar subject area

It's Great But Not Required If You Have

• Experience working for SAAS companies
• Experience with Machine Learning
• Committed code to open source projects
