Job summary

Event Services Group (ESG) is seeking a Director of Technical Design & Development to lead the team responsible for the technical design and development of custom elements and environments for live events, activations, and trade shows. You will translate creative concepts into executable build plans and cost estimates across our integrated fabrication facility.

This senior role bridges design concepts with production, establishing standards, processes, and pricing strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and detailing custom fabricated environments.
• Strong knowledge of scenic construction methods.
• Experience creating fabrication documentation and shop drawings.
• Strong understanding of CNC manufacturing and digital fabrication workflows.
• Experience with wood, foam, acrylic, aluminum and printed graphics integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and development of custom environments from concept to execution.
• Translate creative renderings into fabrication packages, shop drawings, and installation documentation.
• Determine optimal construction methodologies, materials, and assembly techniques for each project.
• Develop innovative fabrication solutions balancing aesthetics, durability, budget, and installation efficiency.
• Ensure designs are production-ready and executed on schedule.
