Job summary

Selective seeks a Director of Competitive Intelligence to lead internal and external research, identifying industry trends and risks to inform underwriting and product strategies. You will build and mentor a team, develop repeatable intelligence processes, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.

Collaborating with Underwriting Practices, Product, Market Segments, Actuarial, and leadership, you will stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry shifts

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in market research and/or data analytics.
• Ability to synthesize diverse data sources into business insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead competitive and market research to support underwriting and product strategies.
• Develop and maintain CI tools and processes; communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Product, Market Segments, Actuarial, and regional leadership.
• Present findings to stakeholders and drive strategic portfolio decisions.
• Travel 10-15% and maintain a valid driver’s license.
