Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. seeks a Head of Compensation to design, govern, and execute the company’s compensation programs.

You will own the annual merit and long-term incentive planning, conduct market research, and manage day‑to‑day compensation operations with a team of consultants. Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards, you’ll champion AI adoption, ensure pay equity and transparency, and partner with HRBPs and Legal to align pay strategy with Samsung’s global standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Analytics, Finance or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive compensation experience; end-to-end program design.
  • 3+ years of people management experience leading compensation teams.
  • Experience leading annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, promotion) at scale.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation operations, job architecture, market pricing, salary structure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual merit, bonus, and long-term incentive programs with budgeting, planning, and executive review.
  • Own short-term incentives and payout modeling across quarterly/ semi-annual cycles.
  • Oversee executive compensation, offers to Senior Directors and above, and retention agreements.
  • Drive AI adoption to modernize compensation workflows, tools, and governance.
  • Provide market research, benchmarking, and analytics to support pay strategy decisions.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance and Total Rewards to govern plan design and governance.
