Job summary

Nirvana, a bold AI-powered insurance platform based in San Francisco, seeks a Head of Communications to shape how the market sees us. You’ll partner with the CEO to define external and internal messaging and to build our communications function from the ground up.

You’ll own investor relations, craft compelling narratives around AI-driven insurance, manage press relationships, and elevate executive visibility through thought leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in communications, PR, or a related field.
• In-house experience building and scaling the comms function in high-growth companies without an existing playbook.
• Experience with executive communications and building leadership presence.
• Strong relationships with tech, business, fintech and/or insurtech press.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strategic and analytical thinker who can distill complex technical and product concepts into compelling stories for different audiences.
• Thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments.
• Bias-to-action: you move fast and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty.
• Experience managing multiple brands / product lines is a plus.

The role

We set our salary ranges using compensation data from companies similar to our stage and size. For this role, the estimated total cash for this position is $180,000- $275,000. The actual total cash salary will vary depending on multiple factors unique to each candidate, including location, job-related knowledge, transferable skills, work experience and our assessment of your level during the interview process. Nirvana offers equity for all full-time employees, which is not included in the range listed above and will have an impact on your overall compensation.
