Job summary

Green Thumb is seeking a visionary executive to lead its Extraction & Formulation organization. This remote role requires guiding multi-site operations, shaping the strategy for cannabis and hemp extracts, and driving innovation, safety, and quality across Vape, Concentrates, and Edibles categories.

The VP will partner with R&D and engineering to scale processes, transfer technologies, and deliver on long-term business objectives while maintaining rigorous compliance and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Master's in biology, chemistry, or engineering; PhD preferred.
• 15+ years in cannabis ops, R&D, or engineering.
• Experience formulating consumer products.
• Ability to design experiments and solve problems.
• Troubleshoot a wide range of equipment and software.
• Knowledge of GMP, sanitary design, and safety.
• Strong math, detail orientation and organization.
• Excellent communication; OSHA familiarity; regulatory understanding.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive strategic vision for extraction and formulation across sites.
• Lead initiatives to improve extraction tech, filling and formulation processes.
• Direct multi-site operations for consistency, quality, and scale.
• Provide thought leadership on trends in cannabis extraction and formulation.
• Ensure compliance with laws; uphold safety standards across sites.
• Collaborate with product teams to launch new extracts and edibles.
• Design and implement new technologies at scale with R&D/engineering.
• Monitor emerging technologies; advise on process improvements.
• Establish SOPs and facility standards for extraction.
• Drive continuous improvement to throughput and yields.
• Build and lead a high-performing team; oversee recruiting/training.
• Foster collaboration across extraction, operations, and corporate.
• Oversee complex, multi-site projects on time and budget.
• Report progress to executives with data-driven insights.
