Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager of Test Engineering to lead a critical program supporting the company’s AI and autonomy efforts.

You will shape the test strategy, quality standards, and execution model for intelligent systems powering the next generation of connected machines. You will guide cross-functional teams through complex technical challenges, build AI tools that improve software testing, advance modern automation, and ensure safe, reliable technology for customers in

Qualifications

• Knowledge of leadership concepts and ability to enlist others in objectives.
• Knowledge of software development tools and activities; capable of delivering software products.
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle and structured delivery methods.
• Knowledge of software integration processes and interfaces between platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end AI testing strategy, frameworks, tooling, quality gates and automation for ML and traditional software systems.
• Lead and develop a team of software test leads, setting expectations and fostering quality engineering excellence.
• Architect scalable AI test solutions, including model validation pipelines, data quality checks and drift detection.
• Partner with engineering, product and data science leaders to align testing with roadmaps and compliance standards.
• Drive continuous improvement in test operations with modern automation, observability, and tooling.
• Establish governance and best practices for AI quality with documentation and audit-ready processes.
