Job summary

Resmed in San Diego seeks a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to build and lead a new product engineering team focused on sleep health diagnostics.

You will hire, develop, and retain top engineers, partner with Product and Design on roadmaps, and maintain high standards for quality, security, and enterprise alignment. You’ll establish AI-native development from day one and drive delivery across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering management.
• Demonstrated experience standing up a team or function rather than inheriting one.
• Track record of hiring and retaining engineers in competitive markets.
• Backend and/or full-stack technical depth for architecture decisions.
• Hands-on or strong working knowledge of AI-native/AI-assisted development practices and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build the San Diego team: hire, onboard, establish norms and culture of ownership.
• Own end-to-end delivery: planning, execution, and operational health; align with Product roadmap.
• Establish AI-native development as the default: set up methodologies, reviews, and standards.
• Lead across the organization: represent the team in cross-functional forums; build relationships.
• Develop engineers: conduct regular 1:1s, sponsor stretch assignments, grow staff and senior engineers.
