Job summary

Canary Technologies seeks a Head of Product Design to own the design system, information hierarchy, and interaction principles across its platform. You will define rules that govern human and AI agent interfaces, ensuring consistency, scalability, and a forward-looking design language.

The role expands across checkout, messaging, upsells, voice, and more, requiring a leader who can balance governance with rapid iteration and enterprise needs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Product Design with 3+ years leading teams in SaaS settings.
• Strong systems thinking and shipped work at web/mobile scale.
• Proven ability to recruit and develop diverse design talent.
• Excellent collaboration with Product and Engineering in ambiguity.
• Familiarity with design systems, accessibility, and UX research.
• Interest in AI-enabled UX and scalable interaction patterns.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce a unified design system across all Canary product surfaces.
• Establish information hierarchy standards to communicate priority and action clearly.
• Create design principles that are both rigid and programmatically enforceable.
• Write precise specifications so AI agents can generate UI with minimal human review.
• Audit surfaces and drive convergence toward a single coherent system.
• Partner with engineering and product to make the design system the source of truth.
• Design for AI agents (voice, chat, autonomous) as primary users.
