Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Director of Research for the Division of Adolescent Medicine to build a high-impact program, expand extramural funding, and raise national/international profile. The role is based at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center.

Responsibilities include leading research enterprise, fostering mentorship, collaborating across divisions, and ensuring compliant research administration while advancing translational and health services research in adolescent health.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent required; MD/PhD or MD/MS preferred.
• Academic rank of Associate Professor or higher.
• Evidence of independent extramural funding (NIH R-level or equivalent).
• High-level scholarship in adolescent and young adult health.
• Clinical trial experience.
• At least five years at an academic medical institution.
• Experience with philanthropy and private foundations.
• Strong mentoring and leadership in a diverse team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Direct the expansion of the Division's research program and grants.
• Lead and manage the Center’s research enterprise and grants.
• Ensure compliance with research administration requirements.
• Recruit and mentor faculty and trainees.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop interdisciplinary grants.
