Job summary

Minnewaska Golf Club invites a motivated Head Golf Course Superintendent to join the team in Glenwood, MN. You will work with the Head Golf Professional and report to the Board of Directors to oversee comprehensive turf management and course operations.

The role requires experience in golf course maintenance, leadership, and strong communication skills, with a focus on maintaining course conditions and environmental practices for a premier golfing experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of 2 or 4 year turf grass management program.
• Minimum of 2 years golf course experience as grounds supervisor or assistant superintendent.
• Knowledge of design, construction and maintenance of a golf course.
• Skilled and experienced operator of maintenance and construction equipment and machinery.
• Currently possesses or able to obtain Minnesota Pesticide Applicators License.
• Ability to motivate, direct and supervise staff.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish effective relationships with Club management and staff.
• Familiar with use of computers.

Responsibilities

• Devote time and energy to duties as Superintendent at the Club.
• Develop and maintain a turf management program for optimum playability and environmental practices.
• Maintain and improve turf, equipment, buildings and irrigation to Club standards.
• Maintain records of inventory, purchases, equipment maintenance and chemical applications.
• Hire, train and direct staff in operation, maintenance, shop procedures and safety.
