Job summary

Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton, New Jersey seeks a Head Field Hockey Coach for the Upper School. This is a seasonal, stipend-based position with compensation based on education, years of experience, coaching experience, skill set, and internal equity.

Season: Aug 17–Nov 14; Practices: Mon–Fri 3:30–5:30 p.m.; Games: weekdays and occasional Saturdays. The coach leads practices, games, player development, and oversees assistants while upholding the school's mission and

Qualifications

Significant field hockey coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
Experience coaching female athletes and working in an educational setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of skill development, game strategy, and player development.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to commit to the full practice, game, and event schedule.

Responsibilities

Plan and lead daily practices throughout the season.
Coach all games and competitions.
Develop athletes' technical skills, game strategy, leadership, and teamwork.
Foster a positive team culture rooted in sportsmanship, accountability, and respect.
Supervise and mentor assistant coaches.
Maintain consistent communication with student-athletes, families, and the Athletic Department.
Ensure compliance with all school, league, and state athletic association policies.
Support athlete recruitment and program growth.
Attend required athletic department meetings and school events as assigned.
