Job summary

Brunswick County Public Schools is seeking a Head Custodian for Brunswick Education Center & Central Office in Lawrenceville, Virginia. The role focuses on maintaining and protecting facilities and grounds, ensuring safety and a presentable environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Experience as custodian, janitor, or similar role.
• Experience in customer service.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and safety/disposal of chemicals.
• Good physical condition and strength.
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness.

Responsibilities

• Ensure spaces are cleaned and prepared for the next day.
• Sweep, mop floors, vacuum carpets.
• Sanitize toilets, sinks, and showers; restock disposables.
• Wipe mirrors and windows.
• Maintain outer premises and basic landscaping.
• Report major damages and oversee repairs.
• Stock and maintain supply rooms.
• Secure facilities after operating hours and set up alarms.
