Manchester Township High School is seeking a Head Coach for Wrestling to lead the athletic program, coordinate 9-12 activities, and guide the coaching staff through practices and competitions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all 9–12 wrestling programs.
  • Lead staff in performance of responsibilities; plan development and scouting duties.
  • Assist in recruitment, screening, hiring, and training of coaching staff.
  • Assist in budget preparation for the wrestling program.
  • Assist in ongoing evaluation of coaching staff.
  • Manage purchase, inventory, maintenance and collection of equipment.
  • Develop positive public relations with community programs and parents.
  • Develop and implement policies for team and staff discipline.
  • Ensure team members are prepared for participation (physicals, permission, insurance, eligibility).
  • Supervise staff to maintain safety and welfare during practices and contests.
  • Keep abreast of NJISAA and Shore Conference rules and regulations.
  • Establish a program to develop rapport with parents via clinics, parent nights and an open-door policy.

Head Coach for Wrestling

Reports to: Athletic Director

Job Goal: Within the framework of the entire athletic program, provides leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of his/her coaching area.

Qualifications
  1. Full-time teaching assignment in Manchester Township Public Schools.
  2. At least five years of successful coaching experience in his/her chosen coaching area.
  3. Appropriate N.J. State Teaching Certification.
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Performance Responsibilities
  1. Assists in the coordination of all programs (9-12) in his/her coaching area.
  2. Leads staff in the performance of their responsibilities; including plan development and if applicable scouting duties.
  3. Assists in the recruitment, screening, hiring, training and assignment of coaching staff.
  4. Assists in the preparation of the budget for his/her coaching area.
  5. Assists in the ongoing evaluation of the coaching staff.
  6. Responsible for the purchase, inventory, maintenance and collection of all equipment.
  7. Develops an ongoing program of positive public relations, including active participation in other community programs, i.e. Pop Warner, Recreation, etc.
  8. Develops and implements policies for team and staff discipline.
  9. Assumes responsibility for team members being properly prepared for participation, i.e. physicals, parental permission, insurance, and eligibility.
  10. Supervises and delegates responsibilities to the staff in order to maintain the safety and welfare of team members before, during, and after athletic practices and contests.
  11. Keeps abreast of all N.J.S.I.A.A. and Shore conference rules and regulations governing his/her sport.
  12. Establish a program to develop rapport with parents and community via clinics, parent's nights and an "open door" policy.
