Job summary

The Latin School of Chicago is seeking a qualified Boys Tennis coach for the Upper School spring season. As Varsity Head Coach you will lead and mentor student-athletes.

You will focus on building camaraderie, teaching fundamentals and strategies, and modeling integrity and a passion for learning and competition. You will collaborate with fellow coaches and fit within an education-based athletic program that values character as much as competition.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching tennis at a competitive level.
• Ability to plan and teach tennis fundamentals, strategies, and conditioning.
• Demonstrated adherence to sportsmanship and team values.

As Coach, You Will

• Build an attitude of camaraderie, motivation, and team spirit where team members cheer, challenge, and support each other.
• Plan, organize and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules, and proper conditioning in the assigned sport.
• Model attitudes and practices that exemplify the benefits of hard work, sacrifices aimed toward long-term goals, the value of learning to strive and compete fully, and the appreciation of challenge.
• Develop a working knowledge of the principles of the Positive Coaching Alliance, including 'honoring the game', 'redefining winner', and 'filling the emotional tank'.
