Alpine School District is seeking a Throws Coach for an education support role paid by stipend. Daily practices will run about two hours and will focus exclusively on shot put and discus, for both girls and boys teams.

The position is non-contract with no benefits, starting 01/04/2027. Ideal candidates need not have extensive experience, and coordination with athletes, staff and parents is essential to support the school’s vision for the team.

Qualifikationen

• Coaching experience or potential to coach track and field throws
• Ability to coordinate and run practices safely and effectively
• Ability to select and prepare competition teams for local/national events
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with athletes, staff, parents, administration and support staff
• Maintain a positive school and team image
• Engage in school and community events
• Support and motivate student athletes academically
• Develop sport-specific throwing skills and provide individual guidance

Aufgaben

• Coordinate and run safe and effective practices, caring for the needs of the athletes
• Select and prepare the competition team for local and national competitions
• Work, communicate, collaborate with athletes, staff, parents, administration and support staff in support of the school's vision for the team
• Maintain a positive image for the school, community and team

• Support and motivate student athletes to do their best in academic studies
• Develop sport-specific skills in athletes
• Provide individual instruction/guidance for student athletes in a constructive manner

• Manage, plan and budget resources in conformity to Alpine School District regulations, policy and procedures (PACE)
• Manage, plan and provide fundraising opportunities for the team and individual costs associated with the team (PACE)
• Oversee local and extended/out of state trips and events that are beneficial to the team and the school
• Maintains team equipment, orders uniforms and gear
• Participates in the hiring and instructing of assistant coaches
