Job summary

Marietta City Schools is seeking a Head Coach for Soccer MMS Boys to lead a middle school program. Immediate starting date and duties include coaching, planning practices, coordinating with the Athletic Director, and ensuring safety and discipline during all activities.

The role requires a valid teaching certificate and proven teaching and coaching experience within the district or similar settings. This is a temporary position with responsibilities that include equipment management and program

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate.
• Successful teaching and coaching experience.
• Knowledge of athletic area and ability to teach skills.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season. Works closely with the athletic director in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests.
• Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
• Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork. Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in the sport. Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by authorized personnel.
