Job summary

Sacred Heart University is seeking a Head Coach for the Men’s Lacrosse team within the Club Sports and Recreation department. This part-time position runs from October 1st to May 15th and includes recruitment, practice planning, and game-day coaching with collaboration across athletic staff.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and organizational abilities, plus a commitment to player safety and development in a collegiate setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience at the high school, prep, junior, or collegiate level.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends due to game schedule.
• Coaching certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and retain players who meet university admission standards.
• Prepare weekly practice plans and provide high-end instruction to student-athletes.
• Coordinate game-day responsibilities including planning and roster management.
• Collaborate with Athletic Training and Strength & Conditioning staff on safety and development.
• Develop recruitment plans and maintain relationships with campus staff and coaches.
• Oversee coaching staff and student staff as assigned by Head Coach.
• Report to the Director of Club Sports and Recreation on season prep.
