TVT Community Day School is seeking an Athletic Director Assistant to help plan, develop, and implement interscholastic sports policies and procedures. You will train student-athletes, supervise teams, and coordinate travel and practice logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate the school site interscholastic sports program.
  • Work with administrators to recruit, select, mentor, train, and supervise an effective coaching staff.
  • Supervise students during practice, games, tournaments, and team travel.
  • Suggest equipment and supplies to be ordered.
  • Observe participants to correct technique and safety.
  • Instruct and enforce health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Develop physical conditioning programs for maximum performance.
  • Collaborate with administrators and athletic trainers; monitor injuries and return-to-play protocols.
  • Assess team skills and communicate with site administrators.
  • Maintain relationships with school and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure student-athletes are academically eligible for interscholastic sports.
  • Submit athletic contest results and maintain the MYTVT Team Page.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Under general direction of the Division Head, Athletic director, and Associate Athletic director, assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the policies, regulations, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to an interscholastic sports program; to instruct and train student-athletes and teams in attaining proficiency in sport related functions; and to do other related functions as directed.

Essential Job Functions
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate the school site interscholastic sports program.
  • Work with administrators to recruit, select, mentor, train, and supervise an effective coaching staff.
  • Supervise students during practice, games, tournaments, and team travel.
  • Suggest any necessary team equipment and supplies that need to be ordered.
  • Observe sport participants during practice and workout sessions to detect and correct errors in activity procedures and methods.
  • Instruct, explain, and enforce health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Develop and implement physical conditioning programs that allow athletes to achieve maximum performance.
  • Collaborate with administrators and athletic trainers. Review, audit, and monitor sport activity related injuries and follows protocol regarding injuries and return to play standards.
  • Assess the athletic team skills and abilities.
  • Confer with, counsel, and advise site administrators concerning interscholastic sports programs.
  • Work effectively with all school and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure student-athletes are academically eligible for interscholastic sports.
  • Consistently submit athletic contest results to athletic director and school website
  • Maintain a MYTVT Team Page that is informative, up to date, and communicative.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Knowledge Of
  • Principles, goals, and objectives of TVT.
  • Methods, techniques, procedures, and strategies concerning the development and maintenance of an effective interscholastic sports program.
  • Sports interest groups and organizations within the local community.
  • Modern trends and strategies pertaining to interscholastic sports.
Ability To
  • Provide teaching and instruction in athletic skill development.
  • Analyze and assess interscholastic sports program needs, and offer recommendations pertaining to program revisions, additions, or deletions.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions with minimal accountability controls. In addition, communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Certification Requirement
  • NFHS Concussion in Sports
  • NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)
  • First Aid/CPR
