KidStrong Coaches are responsible for fostering a culture of learning, development, and engagement among kids, families, and team members. They deliver high-quality, energetic classes that promote holistic growth and well-being. Coaches maintain professionalism, care, and consistency across all interactions within the KidStrong community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train new coaches on class flow, curriculum, safety, and parent engagement.
  • Provide real‑time coaching, feedback, and corrections to teammates.
  • Ensure every coach is prepared, and performing at KidStrong standards.
  • Support coaches in understanding the “why” behind the curriculum.
  • Ensure classes start and end on time.
  • Greet families before class.
  • Celebrate wins and progress.
  • Address concerns with professionalism and confidence.
  • Build trust and rapport with parents.
  • Support retention through strong family relationships
COACHING
  • Coach students by delivering an evolving curriculum that focuses on Brain, Physical, and Character development approximately 24 hours a week.
  • Achieve Coach Certification through the HQ Training and Certification team.
  • Understand the “why” behind the KidStrong curriculum and be able to clearly and concisely communicate it.
  • Coach classes for students with age groups ranging from walking to 11 years old.
  • Create positive interactions with students and families before, during, and after class.
  • Maintain dynamic, fun, and motivation, and professional demeanor when leading the class.
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various programming and curriculum elements.
  • Use the KS Coaches App to record data and provide data (attendance, awards, etc.).
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers.
  • Must be able to ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum.
  • Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through class, lifting and repeatedly moving equipment up to 25 pounds in weight.
  • Must be comfortable physically working with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.
  • Assisting parents of students, ages 3 and younger, with the direction and flow of a class.
  • Complete training through LearnUpon as required by the GM and/or HQ Training and Certification team.
  • Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by the GM.
  • Learn and manage KidStrong Camps held by centers when local schools are not operating (for example: Winter Break and Summer Break).
  • Ensure coaches use the KS Coaches App correctly (attendance, awards, data).
  • Maintain equipment organization and readiness.
  • Support camps, special events, and school‑break programming.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with children and families.
  • Ability to lead high-energy, engaging classes with confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Passion for child development, fitness, and education.
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills within a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to KidStrong’s mission and values.
  • Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing class needs or schedules.
  • Experience in coaching, teaching, or youth leadership (preferred but not required).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-starter that just gets a job done .
