Job summary

Nine Pins is seeking a Head Cider Maker to lead hands-on production of high-quality hard cider in our New York facility. You will oversee fermentation, blending, quality controls, and maintain clean, safe, and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of beverage production experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well on a team in a fast-paced production environment. Relocation budget available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of beverage production experience.
• Fluent understanding of sanitation and food safety practices.
• Experience with blending and a developed palate for fermented beverages.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding production environment.
• Experience operating a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Manage/coordinate fresh juice receiving
• Fresh juice fermentation of apples and other fruit, nutrient additions, and fermentation monitoring
• Process fermented juice using centrifuge and crossflow filtration
• Organize production space and warehousing of fermented blends
• Create and pick final blends to be transferred for packaging
• Create pilot batch formulations for experimental ciders
• Warehousing of finished products and unloading/loading deliveries
• Maintain daily accurate production records, batch information and cellar logs
• Maintain clean organize and efficient cellar and production areas
• Perform routine equipment checks and communicates maintenance needs.

Nine Pins Head Cider Maker is responsible for the hands-on production of high-quality hard cider through fermentation and blending. This role involves day-to-day cider production while maintaining high standards for quality, consistency, cleanliness, food safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of beverage production experience, strong attention to detail, a passion for making excellent products and the ability to work well on a team.
