Job summary

Charles County Public Schools seeks qualified Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches to support education-based athletics. The positions involve leading and supporting the coaching staff, ensuring safety and supervision of student-athletes, and promoting sport skill development and character.

Roles include program management across varsity, junior varsity, and freshman levels, with responsibilities for budget, equipment, and compliance. This is a 12-month temporary position with stipend compensation.

Qualifications

• Certified teachers or professional educators employed by a local Board of Education.
• Maryland certification under COMAR 13A.12.01 and MPSSAA/MSDE Coaching Certification.
• Two years of successful emergency coaching experience, including one year at the hiring school.

Responsibilities

• Head Coach: lead the program across varsity, JV, and freshman levels; supervise staff and manage equipment and budget.
• Assistant Coach: support head coach with instruction, supervision, and program communication; help with scouting and facilities.
• Attend required meetings, clinics, and trainings; ensure safety and compliance for student-athletes.
