Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Head Cashier to supervise a team of cashiers and assist with daily operations. You will lead by example, deliver outstanding customer service, and ensure smooth register activity.

The role requires 1–2 years cashiering experience with leadership training, strong math skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Join a fast-paced, community-focused retailer and help maintain a high standard of service.

Qualifications

• Be 18+ and have a HS diploma or GED with 1–2 years cashiering experience plus leadership training.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly attitude and strong customer interaction skills.
• Operate front end equipment: register, calculator, scanner.
• Strong numeracy and cash handling skills.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized and take direction.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and move carts up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks at the registers.
• Assist with customer issues at the register and ensure smooth operations.
• Schedule and oversee meal and rest breaks per policy and state requirements.
• Assist in hiring and training of new Cashiers; take necessary disciplinary actions.
• Maintain visibility for security and loss prevention; keep areas clean and orderly.

Overview Of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for the supervision of a team of cashiers and assistance with operational issues.

• Ensure excellent customer service through proactively visiting registers and providing direction/support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
• Assist in potential customer assistance issues at the register
• Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels and maintain cleanliness standards in the restrooms and parking lots
• Maintain visibility of the exit doors for security and loss prevention issues
• Schedule and oversee proper execution of appropriate meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements
• Assist in the hiring and training of new Cashiers and taking necessary steps for disciplinary actions

Qualifications

To be a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Markets you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
• Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers, representing as a role model in behaviors.
• Ability to operate front end equipment; register, calculator, scanner.
• Have good communication skills; the ability to take direction/constructive criticism and participate in a team environment
• Be able to perform repetitious activities, and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and stay organized.
• Must lift/carry product horizontally/vertically weighing up to 30 lbs., from 36” to 24”, for a distance up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Must use both hands to move grocery carts horizontally requiring a force up to 35 lbs., for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 50 hours.
• Requires strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers; proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills; ability to read, write and count.
