Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Head Cashier to lead a fast-paced frontline team and deliver outstanding customer service. The role oversees cashiers, coordinates with staff, and supports hiring and training while ensuring accurate cash handling and daily operations.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age with a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of cashiering experience plus leadership training.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays as schedules change with business needs.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor, positive attitude, and ability to be a role model for customers.
• Ability to operate front-end equipment: cash register, calculator, and scanner.
• Strong communication skills; able to take direction and work well in a team.
• Capable of repetitive tasks, multitasking, prioritizing, and staying organized.
• Must lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move carts up to 35 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Strong attention to detail, cash handling proficiency, and counting/mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of cashiers and assist with store operational issues.
• Proactively visit registers to provide direction and support to cashiers and courtesy clerks.
• Assist with customer assistance at the register as needed.
• Schedule and oversee breaks in compliance with policy and state requirements.
• Assist in hiring and training new cashiers and take disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Maintain store cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking areas and ensure security.

Overview Of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for the supervision of a team of cashiers and assistance with operational issues.

• Ensure excellent customer service through proactively visiting registers and providing direction/support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
• Assist in potential customer assistance issues at the register
• Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels and maintain cleanliness standards in the restrooms and parking lots
• Maintain visibility of the exit doors for security and loss prevention issues
• Schedule and oversee proper execution of appropriate meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements
• Assist in the hiring and training of new Cashiers and taking necessary steps for disciplinary actions

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
• Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers, representing as a role model in behaviors.
• Ability to operate front end equipment; register, calculator, scanner.
• Have good communication skills; the ability to take direction/constructive criticism and participate in a team environment
• Be able to perform repetitious activities, and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and stay organized.
• Must lift/carry product horizontally/vertically weighing up to 30 lbs., from 36” to 24”, for a distance up to 3 feet for up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Must use both hands to move grocery carts horizontally requiring a force up to 35 lbs., for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 50 hours.
• Requires strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers; proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills; ability to read, write and count.
