Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Head Cashier to lead a fast-paced front-end team, mentor cashiers and ensure outstanding customer service across registers and courtesy clerks.

You will schedule breaks, assist with issues at the register, help hire and train new cashiers, and uphold policy, security, and cleanliness standards while delivering a welcoming, retail-friendly shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
• Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers, representing as a role model in behaviors.
• Ability to operate front end equipment; register, calculator, scanner.
• Have good communication skills; the ability to take direction/constructive criticism and participate in a team environment
• Be able to perform repetitious activities, and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and stay organized.
• Must lift/carry product up to 30 lbs., etc.

Overview Of Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent customer service through proactively visiting registers and providing direction/support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
• Assist in potential customer assistance issues at the register
• Assign store sweeps, monitor/maintain cash register supply levels and maintain cleanliness standards in the restrooms and parking lots
• Maintain visibility of the exit doors for security and loss prevention issues
• Schedule and oversee proper execution of appropriate meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements
• Assist in the hiring and training of new Cashiers and taking necessary steps for disciplinary actions

• Must use both hands to move grocery carts horizontally requiring a force up to 35 lbs., for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 50 hours.
• Requires strong attention to detail and proficiency with numbers; proficient in cash handling and mathematical skills; ability to read, write and count.
