Job Description

Job Title: Head Boys Volleyball Coach (East High School)

Salary Grade: $8000 per season

Department: Athletics

Reports To: Building Principal / Athletic Director

Purpose of Job: Provide leadership for the school’s athletic program through the development, implementation, and improvement of specific sports coaching.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate team and sport in compliance with MSHSAA standards.
• Assist in implementing athletic standards as outlined in the MSHSAA Handbook and attend all required MSHSAA sessions.
• Coordinate program logistics.
• Supervise students at practices and contests.
• Provide information for transportation, facilities, officials, and game management.
• Organize and schedule regular practice sessions to develop student-athletes’ potential.
• Emphasize safety precautions and adhere to training and injury management procedures.
• Conduct team and self in an ethical manner during practices and contests, exemplifying high standards of sportsmanship.
• Ensure systematic return of all school equipment per KCMSD Athletic Department Handbook.
• Continue professional growth through clinics and publications.
• Successfully complete the MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Course.
• Fulfill 8 contact hours of professional development:
  • District level meetings – 4 hrs.
  • School level meetings – 3 hrs.
  • Outside meetings/clinics – 1 hr.

• Student-athletes.
