Job summary

Bethel School District in Spanaway seeks qualified coaches capable of demonstrating sports fundamentals and organizational skills. Candidates must have successful coaching experience and current First Aid and CPR certification. Willingness to support the total athletic program is essential.

Job description

Basic Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of assigned sports fundamentals.
• Organizational and motivational skills.
• Ability to model behavior as outlined in the Coaches Handbook.
• Successful coaching experience and training over a period of years.
• Willingness to support the total athletic program.
• Current First Aid and C.P.R. card.
• Those recommended for hire must attend a training class on the district’s coaching training program.

Additional Requirements

• Hepatitis B and HIV testing; vaccination for Hepatitis B if necessary.
• Completion of the district’s sexual harassment training class.
• Fingerprinting for a background check.
• Head coaches must be 21 years of age or older; assistant coaches must be 19 years of age or older.
• Classroom teacher experience preferred but not required.
