Job summary

Tippecanoe County Public Library in Lafayette, Indiana seeks a skilled manager to lead the Adult Services department. You will supervise four MLS Librarians and support staff, develop and evaluate programs, and drive community engagement for a diverse patron base.

The ideal candidate holds an ALA-accredited MLS with Indiana LC2 certification and at least 3 years of supervisory experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited MLS degree required.
• Indiana LC2 Certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a public library.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; community engagement a plus.

• Oversee Adult Services department and four MLS librarians.

Tippecanoe County Public Libraryseeks a skilled manager to joinour library team and commit to achieving our vision for over 150,000 area residents! We will hire a conscientious, customer-oriented manager with a commitment to public library service to lead our Adult Services department.Supervise four M.L.S. Librarians along with support staff as you formulate, deliver and evaluate programs and services.The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic programmer and have seasoned problem-solving skills, the ability to make independent decisions and strong interpersonal and communications skills. Experience in community engagement and working with underserved populations is highly desirable.

Minimum 3 years supervisory or management experience in a public library or any equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred. ALA accredited MLS and Indiana State Library LC2 Certification required.

Starting salary is commensurate with relevant work experience, skills, andeducation:$56,000 -$63,000/year. TCPL has an excellent benefits package.
