Job summary

Marysville Exempted Village School District seeks a Head 7th Grade Wrestling Coach for Bunsold Middle School in Marysville, Ohio.

This temporary, part-time role requires organizing practices, coaching matches, maintaining safety, and supporting the 7-12 athletic program. Salary ranges from $4,095 to $7,166 per year.

Responsibilities include equipment management, record keeping, and collaboration with staff, students and families; CPR and supervisor validation are required.

Qualifications

• Pupil Activity Supervisor Validation.
• Ohio teaching certificate/license preferred.
• CPR certification with mandatory annual review.

Responsibilities

• Assist the High School coaches with the development of the entire 7-12 program.

• Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, staff, parents and community members.
• Serve as a role model for student athletes in the promotion and practice of sportsmanship, ethical principles and responsible behavior.
• Enforce the academic eligibility requirements of the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the Marysville Schools and the Marysville Middle School.
• Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district.
• Follow the Athletic Director’s rules and the applicable rules in the middle school student handbook.
• Maintain the locker room facilities.
• Other duties may be assigned by the Middle School Athletic Director, the Middle School Principal or the High School Head Wrestling Coach.

TITLE: MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING COACH

REPORTS TO: Middle School Principal and Athletic Director

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Temporary, part-time

POSITION SUMMARY: Coach the seventh-grade wrestling team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Organize and coach all practice sessions.
• Coach all scheduled matches.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to teach and evaluate the skills of the sport.
• Wrestling experience and/or knowledge of wrestling.
• Ability to effectively supervise middle school athletes and work with them in a positive manner.
• Ability to work cooperatively with adults.
• Ability to meet the practice and contest time requirements specified by the Athletic Director or Principal.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

• Audiovisual equipment.
• Mat transports.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Potential exposure to blood or other body fluids.
• Regular exposure to hazardous athletic equipment.
• Potential exposure to unruly people.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Length of Employment: Contract runs concurrent with school year; wrestling season will run approximately November through February.
• Salary: Supplemental pay, step one or appropriate experience step level.
