Squan Construction Services in Washington, DC is seeking a Drill Locator to support horizontal directional drilling projects. You will operate locating equipment, read plans, and help identify underground utilities to maintain safe bore paths.

The role requires good communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors on active construction sites with varying weather. OSHA standards and driving requirements apply. Experience with Subsite or similar locating systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Drill Locator, Utility Locator, or HDD Locator.
• Experience in telecommunications, fiber-optic construction, or underground utilities.
• Ability to operate and interpret locating equipment.
• Ability to read construction plans and utility maps.
• Strong communication and ability to work on a crew.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Valid drivers license and ability to meet driving requirements.

Responsabilités

• Operate electronic locating equipment to track drill head during HDD operations.
• Read and interpret locating equipment displays, utility maps, plans, and construction drawings.
• Identify and account for existing underground utilities and potential obstructions.
• Maintain drill-path information and communicate changes to the crew.
• Follow established safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Complete required daily documentation and locate records.
• Assist with potholing, daylighting, and other safe utility identification tasks.
