Klaasmeyer Construction Company, Inc. is hiring an HDD Operator to run bore rigs for underground conduit and fiber optic installations. You will plan bore paths from project drawings, execute them in the field, and manage fluids to ensure bore integrity.

Expect to work outdoors in all weather, coordinate with crews, and perform daily rig maintenance while documenting bore data and production. Safety and readiness to travel are essential.

Qualificações

• 2–4 years of verifiable HDD rig operating experience, telecom/utilities/underground construction preferred.
• Experience with pilot bore, reaming, and pullback operations.
• Knowledge of remote bore tracking systems (DigiTrak, Subsite, or equivalent).
• Comfort operating mid-to-large class rigs (Vermeer, Ditch Witch, American Augers, or similar).
• Understanding of drilling fluid management and soil conditions.
• Awareness of 811/one-call processes and underground utility protection.
• Valid driver's license; CDL a plus.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 a plus.
• Willing to travel overnight or out-of-state when projects require it.

Responsabilidades

• Operate HDD rig to bore underground conduits and fiber optic cables.
• Plan bore paths from drawings and utility locate sheets, then execute in the field.
• Run pilot bores, pre-ream passes, and pullback from start to finish.
• Manage drilling fluids and pressures to maintain bore integrity and control spoils.
• Track bore head location and depth using remote guidance systems.
• Coordinate with locating tech and pipe crew to stay on schedule and safe.
• Perform daily rig inspections and routine maintenance.
• Document bore logs, footage, fluid usage, and daily production accurately.
