Primoris Services Corporation in Texas is seeking an HDD Operator to run horizontal directional drilling equipment and install conduit, pipe, and cable according to project plans. You will perform pre-op checks, read blueprints, and work with a crew in varied terrains.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years HDD equipment experience.
• Ability to read utility maps/blueprints/project plans.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL Class A or B preferred.

Responsabilidades

Job Overview:

Operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment to install underground utilities in various terrains. This role requires precision, adherence to safety protocols, and effective teamwork to ensure successful project completion.

Responsibilities-

• Operate HDD drill rig, locator, and associated equipment to bore and install conduit, pipe, and cable according to project plans and specifications.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Interpret blueprints, utility maps, and project plans to determine bore paths, depths, and potential obstacles.
• Communicate effectively with crew members, including drill locators, supervisors, and other ground personnel, to ensure smooth drilling operations.
• Monitor drilling fluids, pressures, and ground conditions to adjust drilling parameters as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues with HDD equipment in the field.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT).
• Complete daily reports, logs, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of job sites, including loading and unloading equipment and materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project goals.

Qualifications-

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating horizontal directional drilling equipment.
• Proven ability to interpret utility maps, blueprints, and project plans.
• Strong understanding of HDD principles, drilling techniques, and subsurface conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL Class A or B preferred.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required by project demands.
