Peak Utility Services Group is hiring an HDD Locator in Fort Worth, TX to support horizontal directional drilling operations that keep local communities connected. This full-time role places you directly alongside Drill Operators, where locating precision and jobsite safety are the foundation of every successful bore.

What the HDD Locator Role at Peak Utility Services Group in Fort Worth Entails

The HDD Locator assists the Drill Operator in tracking the drill head and guiding the bore path in accordance with project blueprints. You'll verify locate marks, confirm the position of existing underground facilities, and assist with site clean-up and other assigned duties. Equipment maintenance—per manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines—also falls under your responsibility, ensuring tools and vehicles stay field-ready.

Success Factors and Qualifications

The work demands physical endurance and attention to detail. Expect heavy manual labor for extended periods—often in adverse weather—as well as lifting up to 80 lbs. multiple times per shift. You may work in trenches, manholes, tunnels, and confined spaces with moderate to loud noise levels, so readiness for climbing, digging, stooping, and kneeling is essential.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent desired.

Additional Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License within two weeks of employment.
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and a pre-employment drug screen.
