Colony Tire Corporation in Summerville, SC is seeking a full-time HD Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain heavy-duty equipment and passenger vehicles. The role requires CDL and the ability to perform routine alignment and related service tasks.

Job Title & Location

HD Mechanic Colony Tire located in Summerville SC is currently seeking a full time HD Mechanic to join our team. Our mechanics work for competitive unlimited pay. Previous experience required. Mechanic must be able to diagnose and repair simple and complex automotive issues and perform routine maintenance on passenger vehicles as well as heavy equipment. Must hold a valid CDL drivers license.

Summary

Employee will be required to perform tire and auto related service as well as other duties as assigned by the manager.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

• Follow established procedures to inspect tires, wheels and vehicles before and after service.
• Execute precision alignment tasks for heavy duty equipment and powertrain systems including but not limited to wheel alignment, axle alignment and drivetrain adjustments.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify alignment issues and potential mechanical problems conducting thorough inspections and analyses.
• Calibrate and adjust alignment systems according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance on alignment equipment ensuring tools and machines are in proper working condition.
• Maintain detailed records of alignment procedures, diagnostic results and maintenance activities for compliance and reference.
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain alignment issues, recommend repairs and solutions ensuring a clear understanding of the work performed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and mitigate risks associated with alignment tasks.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs uses repair and maintenance.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The environment may or may not be air conditioned/heated seasonally. Employees frequently work with dirty and greasy parts and in awkward positions. The employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. As a result, minor workplace injuries are not uncommon but employees usually can avoid serious accidents if safe practices are observed.

Education

High school or equivalency and/or related experience is preferred but not required.
