Role Description

The HD and LV Mobile Mechanics role is a full-time, on-site position based in Elko, NV. In this role, team members diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty (HD) and light vehicle (LV) mobile equipment used in underground mining operations. Daily tasks include performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, carrying out inspections, identifying mechanical issues, and completing high-quality repairs to minimize equipment downtime. Mechanics will use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot faults, follow maintenance plans and safety procedures, and keep accurate records of work completed. The role also involves collaborating with supervisors, operators, and other maintenance personnel to prioritize work, support continuous improvement, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong maintenance skills, including planned and preventive maintenance for HD and LV mobile equipment.


• Demonstrated experience in maintenance & repair of heavy equipment in mining, construction, or similar environments.


• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on mobile machinery.


• Ability to work safely in an underground mining environment, following all safety standards and procedures.


• Relevant trade qualification or certification as a mechanic or heavy equipment technician (or equivalent experience).


• Experience using diagnostic tools, maintenance management systems, and technical manuals.


• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


• Willingness to work shift rosters and adapt to changing operational requirements; mining experience preferred but not required.
