Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Chemical Handler to join our safety-conscious team in Manhattan Beach, CA. This entry-level role involves picking up chemicals, transporting them to the hazardous-material area, decontamination, and emergency-response tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include handling shipments, performing physical work, and staying active on the job. A strong safety mindset, willingness to work early hours, and ability to work weekends are important for success with our team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• CDL Class B with hazmat endorsement is required.
• Willingness to undergo background check, drug test, and physical.
• Prior chemical handling experience or chemistry knowledge preferred.
• BS/BA in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pickup chemicals from buildings around the facility.
• Transport chemicals to the 90-day hazardous-material/waste area.
• Decontamination and cleaning.
• Emergency-response work during working hours.
• Handle shipments off-site during the last week of the month.
• Driving plus substantial hands-on/physical work.
