Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III - Hazardous Compounding in Chicago to support pharmacists in high-complexity dispensing, sterile product preparation, and hazardous medication handling. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to regulatory standards.

The technician will work under pharmacists, with responsibilities including IV admixture, narcotics management, and inventory control in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment at Galter 17 & Lavin 21

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Illinois Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR) required.
• CPhT or ExCPT certification required for all licensed after 2008.
• NM approved training in compounded sterile preparations within 180 days of start date.
• Preferred: Technician Training Program; CSPT certification.

Responsabilités

• Prepares medication orders for inpatients and outpatients.
• Prepares prescriptions and compounds sterile products under supervision.
• Manages intravenous admixture scheduling and verifies records with a pharmacist.
• Enter drug orders and renewals into the patient medication profile in the computer system.
• Maintain inventory and ensure proper handling of hazardous medications and narcotics.
