Job summary

CAE is seeking an Instructor Pilot to deliver high-quality flight simulator and ground school training, lead sessions, and certify learners across aircraft types. You will maintain training records, stay current with instructional qualifications, and support client training and internal course development.

The role offers growth through CAE’s instructor development program and a path toward Training Center Evaluator roles, with access to advanced training technology and diverse teaching

Qualifications

• Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot certificate.
• Experience operating under FAR Part 135.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to complete accurate training records per CAE and FAA requirements.
• Willingness to participate in CAE’s DOT drug and alcohol testing program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver flight simulator and ground school training in accordance with regulatory requirements, CAE curricula, and customer expectations.
• Conduct professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings.
• Serve as SME for client training and internal course development.
• Complete training records and other administrative documentation accurately and promptly.
• Maintain all required instructional qualifications.
• Assess learner progress and recommend remedial training when appropriate.
• Provide instruction for licences, type ratings, certificates, and internal qualifications.
• Pursue qualification as Training Center Evaluator and customer contract check airman after ~18 months, subject to business needs.

As a Hawker Instructor Pilot at CAE, you will play a critical role in developing pilot confidence and proficiency through high-quality simulator and ground training. You will lead training sessions, conduct comprehensive pre‑and post‑flight briefings, and serve as a subject matter expert across assigned aircraft platforms.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver flight simulator and ground school training in accordance with regulatory requirements, CAE curricula, and customer expectations.
• Conduct professional and comprehensive pre‑ and post‑flight simulator briefings.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for client training and internal course development.
• Complete training records and other required administrative documentation accurately and promptly.
• Maintain all required instructional qualifications.
• Assess learner progress and recommend remedial training when appropriate.
• Provide instruction for licences, type ratings, certificates, and internal qualifications across one or more aircraft types.
• Following approximately 18 months in the role, and subject to business needs, pursue qualification as a Training Center Evaluator and customer contract check airman.
• Participate in CAE’s comprehensive instructor development program.

• Remain active in flight‑deck‑related training while supporting work‑life balance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot certificate.
• Experience operating under Federal Aviation Regulations Part 135.
• Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office and internet‑based applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest in teaching and developing aviation professionals.
• Ability to complete accurate training records in accordance with CAE and Federal Aviation Administration requirements.
• Ability to maintain a professional, customer‑focused learning environment.
• Willingness and ability to participate in CAE’s Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Ability to meet the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Regularly ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles. Occasionally work in different positions, including within confined spaces. Remain seated or standing for prolonged periods. Occasionally move around the workplace to complete assigned tasks. Occasionally adjust or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionally perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, or fingers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hawker pilot experience and an applicable Hawker type rating.
• Unrestricted pilot‑in‑command type rating.
• At least 3,000 total flight hours.
• Experience flying business aircraft.
• Previous instructional or aviation training experience.
• Ability to adapt training content and delivery to the needs of a diverse customer base.
• Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to accurate recordkeeping.
• Demonstrated customer‑service skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
