Job summary

Hawaiian Electric Companies seeks a Resource Planner for Hawaii Island (Hilo area) to act as subject matter expert in creating work scopes, scheduling planned and unplanned maintenance, and coordinating with SVP Operations for safe, on-time completion. The role involves use of SAP, SIMS, and related systems, mentoring newer planners, and ensuring proper notices and outages.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical or civil disciplines is a plus and may be substituted for up to 3 years experience.
• Journeyman Lineman or Substation Electrician certification with 5+ years experience may be substituted for up to 3 years experience
• Working knowledge of estimating, planning, or scheduling of construction, maintenance or operations activities highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develops the workscope for customer, system, corrective & preventive maintenance activities; includes budgets, past history, and documentation.
• Plans work, writes procedures, orders equipment/services, submits holdoffs, and notifies customers.
• Creates the schedule coordinating personnel, vendors, and outside services for maximum resource utilization.
• Monitors progress, updates schedules, and prepares reports on resource needs and availability.
• Identifies present and future demand schedules; creates work orders to track costs and budgets.
• Establishes benchmarks and promotes teamwork and self-directed workforce.
