Job summary

The Hawaii State Department of Education seeks a 12 Month Behavior Analyst Teacher to provide licensed behavior-analytic intervention on interdisciplinary teams across 14 Ka’u-’Kea’au-’Pahoa Complex Area schools. You will conduct FBAs, develop BIPs, and oversee qualified paraprofessionals and BTs.

Responsibilities include monitoring progress, consulting with staff, training parents, and contributing to IEPs and related meetings. A Hawaii teaching license and BCBA license are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Hawaii teaching license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board
• Licensed BCBA in the State of Hawaii
• Experience in Special Education K-12 settings

Job description

The 12 Month Behavior Analyst Teacher provides behavior-analytic intervention and services as a licensed behavior analyst representative on interdisciplinary teams: serves as the district resource for students with behavioral challenges; conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), develops Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and Applied Behavior Analysis programs; provides clinical supervision and guidance over qualified paraprofessional staff or Behavior Technicians (BT); Functions include but are not limited to, monitoring student performance and progress, consulting with school staff, providing parent training, and participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and other educational related meetings; and performs other related duties assigned. Qualifications:

Valid Hawaii teaching license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board AND a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in the State of Hawaii

Desired Experience:

Special education classroom experience in a K-12 school setting.
