Job summary

CWT Farms in Quitman, GA is seeking an experienced Assistant Hatchery Manager to support the Hatchery Manager in planning, developing and implementing policies for hatchery operations, egg handling, incubation, and chick production.

The role requires 4+ years in hatchery work, supervisory experience, strong maintenance knowledge, and solid skills in data analysis, budgeting, and safety compliance; a Bachelor's in Poultry Science or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, Agricultural Science, Biology, Management, or related field or 8 years equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum 4 years’ progressive hatchery experience or related poultry industry experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ supervisor experience in a similar environment.
• Extensive maintenance knowledge (electrical, mechanical, PLC, HVAC, hydraulics).
• Advanced poultry science knowledge and strong math/financial acumen.
• Proficiency with MS Office and data interpretation; strong organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety, ethics, and compliance with DOT, state and federal laws.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate hatchery activities: egg pick-up, incubation, hatching, grading, vaccination, and shipping of chicks.
• Oversee facility and equipment maintenance and sanitation programs.
• Lead quality assurance and quality control processes; manage weekly hatch schedules.
• Coordinate with Breeder Manager on egg needs and with contractors as applicable.
• Administer hatchery budget, Embrex program, and animal welfare initiatives.
• Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures; ensure regulatory compliance.
