Job summary

Pilgrim is seeking a hands-on hatchery supervisor to oversee the Embrex transfer and egg transfer processes at our Sumter, SC facility. The role includes vaccine handling per SOP, equipment start-up/shut-down, and supervising a small crew of up to 10 staff.

Maintaining clean work areas and accurate machine documentation is essential. You will manage vaccine inventory and coordinate with management for timely orders, while performing routine light maintenance and storage organization.

Qualifications

• Oversee Embrex transfer process and egg transfer.
• Follow SOP for vaccine handling and mixing.
• Start up and shut down transfer equipment.
• Lead a small crew of 10 or fewer people.
• Maintain clean, organized storage areas and work zones.
• Document machine status and perform light maintenance.
• Communicate inventory needs for vaccine and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Embrex transfer process.
• Oversee the egg transfer process.
• Mix vaccine in accordance with SOP.
• Startup and shutdown of transfer equipment.
• Supervise a small crew (≤10).
• Maintain vaccine and supplies inventory; notify management when restocking is needed.
• Keep storage areas and equipment clean and organized.
• Document machine status; perform light maintenance as required.
• Handle all other duties as assigned by management.
