Job summary

HashiCorp in Chicago is seeking an Associate Principal and Senior Associate Security Engineer to provide 24/7 operational support for the HashiCorp Vault suite, with emphasis on CyberArk, PKI, and IAM integrations.

The role combines systems administration and development, including scripting in Python, Ansible, and Terraform, plus cloud ecosystems (AWS) and AI coding agents. Hybrid work arrangement involves three days onsite in Chicago.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of authentication and authorization systems (Active Directory, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, AWS IAM, App Role, k8s, LDAPS, Kerberos, Certificate)
• Cloud ecosystem and CI/CD deployments with Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins pipelines.
• Security architecture principles including confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 operational support for privileged management solutions (CyberArk, Hashi, PKI), including hot fixes, bug resolution, troubleshooting, and secret lifecycle management.
• Support lifecycle of privileged access management infrastructure, patching, upgrades, and alignment with security standards.
• Assist in implementing system enhancements and troubleshooting under guidance of senior staff.

Associate Principal and Senior Associate Security Engineering - HASHICORP VAULT

LOCATION: CHICAGO, IL

Hybrid 3 days onsite

Looking for a candidate to provide 24/7 operational support on hashicorp vault. Any CyberArk is a plus. Active directory service and public key infrastructure pki python for scripting ansible and terraform in the cloud AWS ai coding agents combination of systems administration and development

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide 24x7 operational support for the suite of privileged management solutions (e.g., CyberArk, Hashi, PKI), including implementing hot fixes, resolving bugs, troubleshooting issues, performing break-fixes, managing secrets lifecycle, and delivering end-user support.
• Support the operational integrity of privileged access management infrastructure throughout its lifecycle (e.g., patching, version control, system upgrades, alignment with /Security standards, etc.), escalating complex architectural or design issues to senior engineering staff as needed.
• Assist in implementing system enhancements to improve platform user experience and automated integrations, and contribute to troubleshooting and remediation of functional and technical problems under the guidance of senior team members.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of application authentication and authorization systems (i.e., Active Directory, oAuth 2.0, OIDC, AWS IAM, App Role, k8s, LDAPS, Kerberos, Certificate)
• Working knowledge of the cloud ecosystem and CI/CD deployments with Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins pipelines.
• Working knowledge of security architecture principles including confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience providing operational support for one or more of the following: All CyberArk Self-Hosted Components/Services (PSM, CPM, PVWA, CCP, CP, Vault, SCIM), HashiCorp Vault Self-Hosted, Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), HSMs, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
• Working proficiency in one or more scripting/automation languages such as GoLang, Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, and/or Terraform.
• General understanding of privileged access management methodologies for on-prem and cloud implementations.
• Experience supporting privileged access management and access controls programs.
• Professional or personal experience using AI coding agents such as OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, or Gemini CLI.
